Appointment Policy

Appointments

Appointments are available throughout the semester; requests for appointments are done on-line by clicking on the advisor's name on the Schedule an Appointment page.

If you would like to discuss your goals for pre-health you must schedule an appointment.  Additionally, if you are a new student interested in pre-health, you must attend an introductory workshop before meeting individually with a pre-health advisor.  The workshop schedule can be found here.

The purpose of the mandatory introductory workshop is to provide students with a basic understanding of the requirements and application process for the intended profession.  Having this knowledge in advance will make an individual appointment more productive.  Please note:  appointments are booked no sooner than 2 weeks in advance and students cannot book more than 1 appointment in a two week period.

Pre-Health Advising is not done on a walk-in basis.

Cancellation of Appointments

We recognize situations arise that may create a need to reschedule or cancel your appointment. A two (2) hour prior-notification is requested. Reciprocal courtesy will be extended to students should Advisors need to cancel.

No-Show Policy

This policy is not meant to be punitive, but to be fair and equitable to all students.  Appointment times are premium. If you do not notify the office two (2) Hours in advance that you are unable to keep the appointment, your absence will be noted as a “no-show.” After two no-shows, you will NOT be able to schedule an appointment for the remainder of the semester. You will be allowed to meet with your pre-health advisor during their designated walk-in hours.  This is the only instance in which a walk-in for pre-health advising will be accepted.
